  The Cream Dachshund

This beautiful color is becoming more and more a favorite among the dachshund lovers since being imported into the United States. A true cream dachshund will be from a platinum blonde to a butter yellow in color. They will have black eyes, a black nose, and black nails.  A cream is actually a chinchilla dilution of a red. A true cream dog resulting from a chinchilla dilution will should not have any hint of red on their coat. A true English cream is very dark in color when born, but they get lighter in shade as they get older and also should be a longhair. Beware of sellers advertising a very light red or EE red as a cream especially in a smooth coat. Some breeders refer those as an American Cream (not an AKC recognized color). A wirehair in the same color is referred as a Wheaton.
